How does the butterfly help man? — Joshua of Marietta, GA

Dear Joshua,

Butterflies are wonderful helpers! They help people in at least three ways. First, they help plants pollinate. That means they carry pollen from one plant to another. When this happens, plants are able to make seeds, and seeds make new plants. People rely on many of these plants. Second, butterflies help people just by being so pretty. They add color and beauty to our world, which helps to cheer us up. Third, they point us to God. When we look at how wonderfully designed they are, we are reminded of the wisdom of God. We know that butterflies didn't "just happen," but were designed by God! So, Joshua, thank Him for butterflies!
