Did the Ice Age happen before or after Adam and Eve? And will it come again? — Rebecca of Taos, NM

Dear Rebecca,

Those are good questions! It could not have happened before Adam and Eve because they were created on the sixth day of the creation week. There was no time for an ice age before God created them. So, the Ice Age had to have happened after Adam and Eve, and probably after the great Flood of Noah. The Flood changed the weather on Earth. Ice formed at the North and South Poles, and on high mountains.

Rebecca, no one really knows what is going to happen to our climate in the future. The world right now seems to be warming ever so slightly. Some scientists blame this on pollution. Other scientists think it is normal for our world to go through warmer and cooler times. Scientists do not know if there will ever be another Ice Age.
